The objective of this study is to develop an energy technology vision until the year 2030, by using an integrated and analytical framework for facilitating optimal exploitation of energy resources and appropriate technology deployment in the context of energy efficiency, access, affordability, security of supply, and financial and environmental sustainability.
Production of high added value products for environmental applications from agricultural byproduct in India: Activated carbon production from bagasse and rice husks

The objective of this project is to produce a high added value product (activated carbon) from waste agriculture by-products (bagasse and rice husk) through technology transfer from the European Union. Tests would be done in waste streams of the local and related industries.

The share of oil in the country's fuel mix has steadily risen from 25% in 1960s to about 33% in the 1990s. Though the energy elasticity is projected to decline to 0.55 in 2025 from the present 0.70, the share of oil in overall energy availability is projected to increase to 40% over the same period.
