Development of technology for treatment of wastewater generated in biomass gasifier systems

The objective is to develop low-cost and feasible technology options for treatment of waste water generated during biomass gasifier operation and producer gas clean-up process. Several waste water samples from different gasifier installations would be collected and analysed for characterization of waste water generated in biomass-gasifier-based systems. Based on the analysis, various technological options for waste water treatment would be identified. Proof of concept laboratory prototype units of selected technological options for waste water treatment would be developed and trial tested under laboratory conditions to study the performance and effectiveness. Based on the feedback received during trial testing, fine-tuning of the system design would be done.
