Preparation of road map for mainstreaming wind energy in India

The project aims at promoting wind power by (a) quantifying the benefits associated with wind power vis -a vis implications of the conventional electricity and (b) sensitising the regulators and other relevant decision makers (both the state/regional and central levels) about the benefits of mainstreaming the wind power The main activities contributing to development of overall plan of action 1. To comput the benfits accrued through wind power eg environmental, social and economic benfits in quantative terms.

Training programme on Environment Based Urban Renewal

The objectives of this training course were as follows :To make the officials, of the development authorities, municipalities, district planning agencies, state environment departments, teaching institutions, NGOs, consultants, industry representatives and environmental managers, aware of the various concerning issues of urban decay and understand ways for urban renewal with a view to improving the environmental quality of life of its residents.
The specific objectives were:
