The technology proposed for the project is a clean energy based integrated multi-utility charging station that utilizes the locally available renewable energy resources to generate electricity. The charging stations will be located near the energy utilization points in villages to provide electricity services as per the needs of the community. The generated electricity would then be used for powering a variety of applications such as charging lanterns, other appliances such as computer, mobile phones, water purifier, grinder, driers, etc.The Study on Energy Conservation in India - Phase 4

As part of the on-going joint research study along with IEEJ (Institute for Energy Economics, Japan), TERI studied the e-filing system of India and the Japanese energy reporting system. TERI and IEEJ teams interacted with Japanese stakeholders on the salient features of their reporting system and Indian stakeholders for the improvements possible in the e-filing system. The EUCAARI project investigates the role of aerosol on climate and air quality. One of the tasks in the project relates to aerosol characterisation in developing countries, including India. Benzene is present in petroleum products such as fuels, diesel fuel, crude oil, petrol. Benzene has been shown to cause cancer in both animals and humans, therefore is currently classified as human caricinogen (Group A) by US Environmental protection agency, and International Agency for Research on Cancer 1996 and based on limited evidence for carcinogenicity in experimental animals. The Tetra Pak carton is primarily made up of Paper (75% by weight) and the rest is polyethylene-aluminium (25%). As part of environment initiatives, Tetra Pak has undertaken various activities for collection and recycling of these Post Consumer Tetra Pak Cartons (PCCs) and is working with various NGO's and the waste picker workforce to segregate PCCs. The project aims at intervention in the engineering cast and textile machinery manufacturing gray iron foundry cluster in Ahmedabad from the perspective of energy efficiency. This project comprises of the following two parts.1/Truing up for year 2004-05 to 2008-09 and detrmination of tariff for year 2010-2011 for Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam - this involves a pudential check of the annual accounts of the 5 power plants from FY 2004-05 to FY 2008-09 so as to revise the ARR. There would be preparation of True up model of ARR for these plants.
2/ In-priciple approval of capital cost and tariff and ARR determination for Chabbra Coal based power plant.
