Study on Energy Conservation in India - Phase 5

The fifth phase of the project aims at promoting power distribution network efficiency in India. The project proposes to analyze factors for T&D (transmission and distribution) losses; AT&C (aggregate technical and commercial) losses; solutions to reduce T&D losses and effect on introducing energy-efficient transformers.

Post-TRIPS IPR Regime in India

Post-TRIPS, a thorough revision of the Indian IPR regime has taken place. However, despite many reforms contribution of Indian IPR holders, in total IPRs registered in the country are quite low. Moreover, even if IPRs are registered, drawing commercial benefits from such IPRs are also at a low level. Given the context, understanding the impacts of post-TRIPS changes will be worthwhile.

Renewable energy-based rural electrification: The mini-grid experience from India

As part of the study, TERI will examine the renewable energy-based mini-grid experiences in India, especially solar PV and biomass based, implemented primarily under the Remote Village Electrification Programme and also Solar PV Demonstration Programme and the Village Energy Security Programme of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

Technical Feasibility Study for Rainwater Harvesting at TESCO-HSC

TERI was contacted by TESCO Hindustan Service Centre (TESCO HSC), Bangalore, to prepare a proposal for designing a rainwater harvesting system on site. Subsequently, TERI performed a reconnaissance survey of the TESCO HSC located in Whitefield, Bangalore with the aim of designing a rainwater harvesting system and facilitating conservation of water.

On the initiative of the Planning Commission, Government of India, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, approached TERI for organizing sensitization visits (for the government officials of the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected districts of 8 states), to the solar lantern charging stations set up by TERI under its Lighting a Billion Lives (LaBL) campaign.

Policy and regulatory issues in the context of large-scale grid integration of renewable energy in Gujarat

Large-scale grid integration of RE (renewable energy) power brings in a number of issues pertaining to policy, technical and regulatory in nature especially in case of intermittent sources like wind and solar. Generation mix in a grid should be such that it not only follows the load pattern but also responds to the sudden load changes.
