Environment, Conflict and Cooperation Exhibition during DSDS 2012

The increasing demands linked with rapid population growth and economic development put escalating pressure on water resources. This is evidenced at the sectorial level by inadequate supplies, at the national level, by competing demands between sectors and by interstate disputes, and at the international level, by conflicts – or the threat thereof – between nations sharing transboundary water resources.
The Water Resources Division at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi and Adelphi, Germany, are organising an exhibition from 2nd to 4th February 2012 during DSDS 2012, to understand the dynamic status of environment and hence the repercussions.
The exhibition aims for greater awareness and policy advocacy on the environmental issues leading to conflicts in and among South Asian countries. The informative texts, photos, and graphic elements give concrete examples that help explore complex interactions.
