The role of emission trading in climate policy

The objective of this project is to support design and implementation of emission trading within the evolving climate regime of Sweden, the European Community, and the larger global community. The focus would be on issues related to globalizing emission trading, including linkages and barriers between the different emission trading schemes and markets, opportunities and risks for developing countries, equity issues/north-south conflicts, and aspects on expanding the market in 2008 and 2013.Development of legal and policy framework for renewable resource-based electricity generation - Sri Lanka

In this emerging reform environment and the prospect of a rapidly growing renewable energy industry, the Government of Sri Lanka is keen to establish a policy framework that enables the sustained and rational growth of renewable energy services in Sri Lanka. The objective of the assignment is to develop a national policy framework for renewable resource based electricity generation that addresses the following key areas: (i) energy policy, (ii) regulation, (iii) legal issues and (iv) commercial issues including tariffs and subsidies.
Field validation and product formulation of AMF bio inoculant with particular reference to low-input wheat-rice and wheat-pulse cropping systems

The objectives are: (1) Maintenance of gene pools of AMF for their further exploitation. Parallel task will be undertaken by GBPUAT for PGPR. (2) Development of axenic in vitro cultures of LL2 and ZTL isolates, which are the most-efficient AMF isolates selected from already conducted field trials, microcosms, in vitro and trap cultures. (3) Developing understanding on synergistic and/or antagonistic interactions between AMF and PGPR for their application in fields. The study involves both quantitative and qualitative approaches. In the quantitative analysis, a time-series ecological study would be done with the pilot study sites serving as the unit of population. Under this project TERI is organizing a five days training programs for ONGC titled "Financing Oil and Gas Sector". The training programme is organized for middle and senior level ONGC executives.
