Regulatory Impact Assessment Project for CRC, University of Manchester

TERI is a partner of the CRC (Centre on Regulation and Competition), Institute for Development Policy and Management at the University of Manchester, UK. It has already undertaken a detailed exercise of mapping regulation in the telecom and electricity sectors in India also examined the existing framework in the water sector in India, though a formal regulatory mechanism does not exist in this sector. TERI also participated actively in the conferences organised by the CRC in U.K., Philippines and South Africa and presented the work undertaken by it in this project.South-South collaborative study tour to "Explore technology options for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in Maldives"

TERI organised a south-south collaborative study tour for officials from Maldives on exploring technology options for climate change mitigation and adaptation.The aim of the study tour was to identify and discuss the available technologies that may help Maldives in deploying measures for mitigation and adaptation to climate change. The programme introduced the work of TERI and other organisations to key ministries in Maldives and provided capacity building opportunities for key stakeholders on climate change related issues.
Development of technology for treatment of wastewater generated in biomass gasifier systems

The objective is to develop low-cost and feasible technology options for treatment of waste water generated during biomass gasifier operation and producer gas clean-up process. Several waste water samples from different gasifier installations would be collected and analysed for characterization of waste water generated in biomass-gasifier-based systems. The objective of this project is to collect information and status of CDM activities in India and compile them into short quarterly periodicals (approximately every 3 months, 4 times during the period of one year). Heinz India Private Limited entrusted TERI for a comprehensive energy audit of different areas/equipments in their plant located at Aligarh (U.P).The main objectives of the project are:
a. To carry out a detailed evaluation of various equipment (as defined under scope of the work) with a view to identify thrust areas for energy conservation.
b. To quantify the extent of energy savings that can be achieved.
c. To recommend various technically sound and economically viable measures to improve the end-use energy efficiency.
