Bioenergy feasibility study for the Government of Maldives

The project involved assessment of bioenergy production from the indigenous resources of Maldives. Fish waste and algal biofuels was looked into as options for renewable energy production in the country. The study also analysed the current situation, prospects and possibilities with regard to bioenergy production and utlization in Maldives.
Bio prospecting of the local edible tubers to address the issue of malnourishment in Thane district

The project involve sensitization of the locals about the importance of tubers, corms, rhizomes & so on to meet their nutrition requirements and also help to curb the issues of malnourishment. The project shall also focus on collection, documentation and maintenance of the germplasm of the nutri-rich tubers.
Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Project in Himachal Pradesh

There were some fundamental problems in the apple growing regions of Himachal Pradesh spanning from scarcity of water, absence of good agricultural practices, absence of technological solutions, ineffective management of apple orchards, absence of quality training and capacity building. A holistic solution was needed which could address the larger issues of the region and would bring changes in the lives of the community.
Post-Consumer Tetra Pak Cartons (PCCs) Management

The report reflects the status of PCC management in 13 cities in India and three cities in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Tetra Pak cartons are primarily made from paper. A Tetra Pak carton is composed of 75% paperboard, 20% polyethylene, and 5% aluminium. As part of environmental initiatives, Tetra Pak has undertaken various activities for collecting and recycling Post-Consumer Tetra Pak Cartons (PCCs) and is working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and waste pickers to segregate PCCs.
Setting up two 100 kWe gasifier plants for Jute processing in Bihar

TERI proposes to demonstrate decentralised looming of jute using biomass gasifier based clean power solutions. To demonstrate this concept the project will take initiatives to establish two pilot processing- cum-decentralised jute business service centres with creation of micro entrepreneurs for decentralised jute looming in the target villages Bardrakoti and Amor of Purnea.
Studies on Indoor Air Quality- Formaldehyde Monitoring in Indoor Environments of Tropical Climates

The study deals with occupant comfort aspect in terms of indoor air quality in air-conditioned office environment in tropical climates. It involves monitoring and analysis of indoor air pollutants with a focus on formaldehyde presence.
Promoting Green Buildings in Tamil Nadu

The rapid urbanisation of various areas of Tamil Nadu has put a strain on municipalities and resources. In light of this, a report was prepared by TERI for the Chennai Metropolitan Devleopment Authority. It suggests policy incentives that would encourage the growth of green buildings through measures such as a certficiation system and rebates to developers on PFSI and other such charges for green buildings, rain water and waste water tax, and fast clearance for projects registered for green certification.
