Breaking Down Adaptation: Research and policy for action in India

A look at the research learning from various ecosystems to inform climate adaptation policy in Global South

Climate change is perverse and the impacts arising out of it have spatial variations. To address these varied yet interlinked impacts driven through various socioeconomic and biophysical factors, regional studies, informing policies across scales, are needed. Under the aegis of the Collaborative Adaptation Research Initiative in Africa and Asia (CARIAA), the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), Jadavpur University and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) were engaged in examining context driven vulnerabilities in three distinct hotspots of India, namely, semi-arid regions, the deltas and the Himalayan river basins. This documentary- "Breaking Down Adaptation: Research and policy for action in India" - presents snippets of the research learning from these distinct ecosystems with an aim to inform climate change adaptation policy and practice in India and the Global South at large.
