Transfer of Bollcure: a new botanical bio-pesticide for cotton bollworm technology, developed at TERI and transferred to Sri Biotech Laboratories Pvt. Ltd, Hyderabad

TERI with the support of the Department of Biotechnology has developed a bio-pesticide from the extracts of eucalyptus leaves. The technology has been tested in the field and is the outcome of 10 years of hard work of the dedicated team working at TERI. The first technology transfer took place on 2 November 2007 in the presence of Dr M K Bhan, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology. The technology docket transfer took place on 13 November 2007 in the presence of Hon'ble Minister of Science and Technology, Shri Kapil Sibal. The technology developed will be helpful for the cotton and chickpea farmers in controlling cotton bollworm. It also has the potential to be used on other crops and pests.
