Study of sustainable procurement policies

Changes in the procurement processes and specifications of governments and public authorities can have significant impacts on markets and send strong signals to the public. On average, public expenditure/consumption accounts for 16% of national GDPs. If governments make a concerted demand for sustainable goods and services, it could directly trigger a substantial increase in their supply and demand. It will also add momentum to the ongoing sustainable design and supply chain management efforts across the world.
