Scaling up frameworks and innovative energy interventions

This research project will validate the scaling up assessment tool developed by IFAD with a purpose to build on the existing tool. For this purpose, the IFAD scalability assessment tool will be applied to energy related interventions from IFAD and other partner organizations in India and Africa.

The case studies to be developed based on these assessments will involve interaction with the relevant stakeholders in Africa and visits to selected interventions in India. The case studies will elaborate on the experiences from interventions relative to piloting, replicating or disseminating energy solutions including (a) improved cook-stoves; (b) energy efficient lighting; (c) energy for rural livelihoods – productive applications.
