Programme for micropropagation research and technology development

The main objectives of the project are (1) development of micropropagation protocols for newly identified priority species; (2) refinement, up-scaling, and evaluation of the process using bench-level protocols developed at other research institutes and universities; (3) germplasm preservation; (4) national facility for socio economic development for the resource-poor farmers/entrepreneurs; (5) institute industry link up; (6) extension of protocols for commercialization and transfer of know-how; (7) contract training and production.
