National Center for Environmental Economics (NCEE) Mission Support Contract - Natural Resources Protection: Technical Support for Environmental Economics Research and Analysis
Cities in developing countries and economies in transition struggle to develop effective waste management projects due to a range of financial barriers. These include limited awareness of financing options; lack of capacity to develop and execute contracts with the private sector; and limited access to certain types of financial support.
This area of work would concentrate on improving cities' financial readiness to improve their capacity to develop and implement organic waste management projects, such as biodigester projects, organic waste diversion strategies, and landfill gas energy projects.
Developing counties and economies in transition need technical support and advising to conduct technical assessments to support biogas projects. TERI shall support biogas project assessment through a combination of direct support to cities and developing and dissemination of tools and resources.
Enhancing capacity for measuring, reporting and verifying emission reductions and improving emission inventories.
