Market development for clean energy sector: focus on (MSW) municipal solid waste based energy projects

In order to understand the viability of harnessing MSW-based power generation for enhancing their contribution to the Indian energy sector, it is important to understand the state-of-the-art technologies available across the globe along with all its auxiliary systems and components. The study would therefore focus on assessing the technological status available both internationally and in the country. An assessment of appropriateness of these technologies in the Indian context would be also conducted. The focus of the assessment would be on commercially mature technologies such as biomethanation, use of RDF (refuse derived fuel), gasification/pyrolysis, and emerging options like plasma arc pyrolysis.
