Long-term plastic flux monitoring and river assessment at 2 sites in Mumbai

The main objective of this research agreement is to increase insights in the spatial temporal

variations and composition of plastic debris transport in the Vasai and Panvel Creeks, Mumbai. The following objectives are determined:

1. Assess the quantity and quality of plastic flow through Vasai and Panvel Creeks.

2. Gain insight into the relationship/interaction between plastic pollution and seasonal rainfall.

3. Guide the selection of deployment locations for The Ocean Cleanup Interceptor"

technology.

4. Introduce and implement standardized methods for plastic data collection in Indian rivers, to allow for used pan-India.
