Integrated renewable energy resource assessment for Gujarat

Renewable Energy resource and potential assessment data presently available is not very user friendly. The data currently available is voluminous and very scattered. Moreover the assessment of the potential of a renewable energy resource is dependent on many factors apart from the resource availability itself and may not be accounted for. Apart from renewable energy resource other factors which play an important role are - land use and land cover, availability of water, transmission and distribution network, load centres, demographic information, and industrial clusters.
The overarching objective of this exercise is to prepare an atlas of the available potential of Renewable Energy resources like solar, wind, and biomass in Gujarat on a GIS platform, along with other essential elements such as land, water, demography, and infrastructure.
