Global Center for Food Systems Innovation

The Global Center for Food Systems Innovation (GCFSI) brings together the specialized technical expertise of a team of international organizations round the globe under one umbrella. This USAID funded project is a cost-effective and innovative partnership with the Michigan State University (MSU), USAID Washington. USAID Missions around the world and a strategically chosen team of specialized technical experts aim to build a sustainable virtual consortium of global problem solvers. The project would facilitate MSU to arrive at scalable solutions to complex developmental problems by employing connected knowledge, breakthrough thinking, and problem solving practices that include experimentation, rapid prototyping and developing locally relevant applications. The major focus of GCFSI would be on: addressing changing demands for food, responding to the increased variability of warming world; promoting the adoption of new technologies; and building the capacity of higher education institutions to respond to the world¿s pressing problems.

TERI has been selected as one of the partners by the MSU to work in geographic focus area as the South East and South Asian regions, called as `The region¿. TERI will find scalable solutions to the complex developmental problems by (i) Employing connected knowledge; (ii) Breakthrough thinking; and (iii) Problem solving practices that include experimentation, rapid prototyping and developing locally relevant applications.
