Detailed project report for National Mission on Bio-fuel

Main objectives: (1) Development of seedlings, nursery and plantation of high yield varieties of Jatropha on economic basis. (2) Procedure for identification of land within the forest wastelands and other in consultation with States. (3) Market linkage starting from growing of appropriate varieties, providing inputs, setting up of collection points, roads, marketing/processing, facilities on commercial basis. (4) Identification of mechanism for collection of seeds and distribution to the expelling/trans-esterification centers. (5) Establishment of technology for trans-esterification and decentralized structure of entrepreneurial ventures having economic viability. (6) R&D setup for improvement of quality of plants as also the technological upgradation for trans-esterification. (7) Training facilities for farmers and workers to be engaged in production centers. (8) Appropriate arrangement for effective monitoring of all activities. (9) Economic and technical feasibility of each activity starting from Jatropha nurseries plantation to production and sale of bio-fuel. The DPR would specify the conditions under which the project would be economically and technically viable.
