Competition Issues in the Energy Sector in India

This project is being undertaken in association with the World Bank, Department for International Development, and the Competition Commission of India. The main objective of this project is to understand competition-related issues in the energy sector in India. The project involves a detailed study of key policies and regulations in the sector and their likely impacts on competition in the energy sub-sectors viz. electricity, oil, gas, and coal. Apart from examining the existing regulatory framework, the project would also endeavor to identify entry barriers and suggest workable solutions to resolve the same.
