CDM Capacity Strengthening in India
The project is a part of the "Integrated Capacity Strengthening for Clean Development Mechanism (ICS-CDM)" program of the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, being coordinated by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan. The goal of this program is to enable developing countries in Asia fully participate in CDM projects that contribute to sustainable development of host countries.
TERI conducted several awareness generation and capacity building workshops for different stakeholder groups in India under the aegis of this program. In the year 2005-06 it organized a two day intensive capacity building sessions on CDM for state nodal agencies and industries and a four day hands on training on PDD development. The focus has been the southern states in India.
A brochure on renewable energy project development and approval requirements was also prepared as a part of the activities in 2005-06.
