An assessment of socio-economic impacts due to meltwater variability in Himalayan states
This research project aims to develop the Melt Water Vulnerability Index (MWVI) for better management of water resources and increasing livelihood resilience in the three states of the Indian Himalayan Region.
To quantify the impacts and identify the degree of interventions required for adaptation against climate change vulnerability, a modelling tool with the set of indicators developed for this study. Project will also deliver a Policy Brief on “Impacts of meltwater vulnerability on local livelihood” outlining the status and suggestive measures for policy makers to enhance community resilience.
