Analysis of the rural electrification strategy with special focus on the franchise system in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Karnataka

The project is to analyse the rural electrification strategy in the state of Andhara Predesh, Karnataka and Orisse. The study will focus on the efficacy of the RGGVY scheme in addressing the access to rural electrification within these states. In the project especial focus will be on the evaluation of the implemented franchisee/ cooperative models within these three states in-order to identify key factors for their success as well as the barriers being faced by these institutions. The end result of the study will be the suggestions/ recommendations for strengthening the rural electrification program (with special focus on franchisee) for the long term sustainability of rural electrification strategy.
