Giving momentum to decentralised solar power generation

Solar power generation at load centres where there is demand saves the need for investments in transmission. There is, therefore, a strong case for promoting decentralised solar power generation. This is now an imperative as the annual rate of solar power capacity addition has to triple if the goal of 500GW of non-fossil fuel capacity creation by 2030 is to be achieved. Notwithstanding the emphasis in favour of roof top solar, success remains modest.
