Building a climate-resilient public health system

The recently released sixth assessment report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has painted a grim picture of the times in store. It warns of heatwaves and humid heat stress getting more intense and frequent in the 21st century, and other such scenarios. Further, rapidly emerging knowledge from across the globe indicates that residing in high-risk areas makes families more vulnerable to mental stress, disruption in food supply chains, reduced access to medical care provisions for routine disease burden, migration, and infectious and vector borne disease.
