Youth Seminar on "Entrepreneurship & Skilling: A Springboard for Sustainable Development"
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), in association with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, organised the State Level Youth Seminar from April 7 to 8, 2016 at the Government Post Graduate College, Rohru, Shimla. The seminar provided the youth with an opportunity to enhance their understanding on the trending issues of entrepreneurship and skill development. The two-day seminar witnessed participation from more than 135 people from various academic institutions, National Service Scheme (NSS), Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), and from several other youth groups across Shimla.
The sessions conducted during the seminar revolved around the theme, 'Entrepreneurship & Skilling: A Springboard for Sustainable Development'. Two expert sessions were also organized for participants on the overview of 'Social Entrepreneurship and Skilling' and 'Soft Skill Development for Influencing Behavioural Change'. Ms Reena Chadha, Safeguard Specialist, Punjab Tourism and Mr Prakash Bharadwaj, State Bureau Chief, Dainik Jagran gave their expert opinion on 'Social Entrepreneurship and Skilling'.
The key note address was delivered by Dr Pramod Chauhan, Principal, Government Post Graduate College Seema, Rohru, Shimla. As part of the seminar, group activities and simulation exercises were also conducted wherein the participants came up with innovative entrepreneurial ideas relevant to their region.
