Understanding the Impact of COVID-19 on India’s Energy System and Economy

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused massive disruption to the Indian economy. Energy consumption collapsed during the lockdown, but it has now recovered back towards pre-pandemic levels. However, the pandemic's mid-term economic impact is unclear, and it is therefore uncertain how fast India's energy demand will grow in the future.
This question is linked also to the stimulus measures and structural reforms undertaken or planned by the Government of India, which could play a substantial role in reshaping the energy system in the short and medium-term.
