Training programme on Grid-connected Rooftop Solar PV Systems for Channel Partners, New Entrepreneurs, Project Developers & Manufacturers

TERI, under its Management Development Programme (MDP), organized a three-day training programme (fourth in the series) on 'Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar PV Systems' for channel partners, project developers, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs from March 16 to 18, 2016 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The training programme helped target groups understand the technical, financial, and regulatory aspects of rooftop solar PV systems, including their quality standards, project management, grid-interconnection, metering arrangements, and remote monitoring mechanism.

During the programme, various practitioners and renowned industry experts from TERI, MNRE, SECI, Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited, Bhopal Municipal Corporation, MP Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Limited, State Bank of India, and Enerparc and Sunkalp Energy shared their views and experiences on implementing solar rooftop PV systems.

A few participants highlighted some issues and came up with their suggestions as well. These were: a) Techno-financial analysis for the rooftop projects to be included in the training; b) Factors that need to be considered during project implementation and supply chain management; c) Need of a one-stop clearance portal for the grid-connected projects of state level.

A total of 23 participants attended the training programme. The event concluded with a valedictory session and distribution of certificates to the participants. This was followed by a site visit to a grid-connected rooftop Solar PV power plant installed by MP Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Limited.
