TERI-ITEC Courses 2014-15 Course VI - Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
The TERI-ITEC (Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation programme) course on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency was held from February 16 - March 6, 2015 at TERI Gram undertaken by TERI. It imparted training on key renewable energy and energy efficiency technology and applications to 27 participants from across 21 ITEC/SCAAP countries. The course was structured in a way that it provided theoretical understanding of the key renewable energy technologies and its applications through classroom lectures along with practical experiences through study tours and interactive sessions. The course included the study visits to Mullana, Roorkee and Dehradun where the participants were shown grid connected renewable energy (biomass gasification and hydro) projects. Participants also visited National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) to see solar energy technology demonstrations projects. The participants were also exposed to training on Sustainable energy for all (SE4ALL) modules and RETScreen software for renewable energy.
As a part of the course the participants visited Agra, to admire the Taj Mahal and went for guided tour of Delhi. The course was concluded with the valedictory session held at TERI Gram after the experience sharing exercise, where each participant provided a feedback on the course and made presentations on the current situation of renewable energy and energy efficiency in their respective countries.
