Meeting of Chief Sustainability Officers
India, like the rest of the world, is witnessing a paradigm shift in the way sustainability is perceived and approached in the new global regime. Moving beyond the realm of sustainable business practices to more quantifiable, accurate and precise measure of how a business impacts the environment and society, the transition from sustainability to ESG metrics is inevitable in today’s world.
And in the ever-evolving sustainability landscape, the role of a Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) is only bound to experience remarkable transformations, be in terms of its significance, relevance, scope or purview. The role holds immense significance for businesses in charting resilient growth pathways in congruence with sustainability principles, judiciously navigating through the regulatory shifts, climate uncertainties and social vulnerabilities.
Set up in 2014 by TERI, the Chief Sustainability Officers' (CSO) Forum is a community of India's leading chief sustainability officers and thought leaders working together towards driving sustainable development from the forefront. The CSOs engage with TERI through its Council for Business Sustainability (TERI CBS) aiming to strengthening the business case for sustainability for the corporates.
Being organized from 1530 Hrs to 1630 Hrs on Thursday, 13th of June 2024 (virtually) by the TERI Council for Business Sustainability (the Council serves as the interface for TERI’s research work to be connected to the corporate world), this edition of the CSO Forum, featuring participation of CSOs from leading corporates in India, will attempt to explore and understand the key attributes of a CSO, and the key skills and competencies required for the role to galvanize a transformative change across the length and breadth of an organization and exhibiting thought leadership, and steering forward the organization effectively towards a green economy regime.
