Book Release: Directions, Innovation, and Strategies for Harnessing Action for Sustainable Development in Goa-DISHA

TERI has published a book titled 'Directions, Innovation, and Strategies for Harnessing Action for Sustainable Development in Goa-DISHA' based on the findings from a research project. The book was launched on July 3, 2015 at the hands of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Goa, Shri Laxmikant Parsekar and the Chief Secretary of Goa, Shri Srivastava.

The book describes baseline assessments and evaluations of possible future trends and transformations in the core development activities across different economic sectors in Goa. It outlines actionable interventions to be undertaken by various stakeholders to enhance sustainability. It also highlights the required policy, governance, legislative and regulatory provisions needed to ensure sustainable growth in Goa.

Shri Parsekar appreciated the detailed study and assured that it would be used as a ready reckoner in planning the future development in Goa. Shri Srivastava mentioned that there was a strong need to strike a balance when it came to development. The welcome address at the event was given by Dr Prodipto Ghosh. Mr Sumit Sharma made a presentation about the book. The event was conducted by Ms Saltanat Kazi from TERI.
