Accelerated dissemination of thermal biomass gasifiers in MSME's: Essential market conditions and policy requirements

TERI with support from Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) organized a DSDS special event on "Accelerated dissemination of thermal biomass gasifiers in MSME's: Essential market conditions and policy requirements" on 4 February 2014.

The inaugural address was given by Mr Alok Srivastava, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, India. It was followed by an engaging panel discussion on "Accelerated deployment of biomass gasifier systems for thermal use in Industries". The panel comprised of dignitaries from Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, UNDP, SIDBI and TERI.

This consultation workshop provided an ideal platform for various stakeholders - policy makers, regulators, consumers, gasifier manufacturers and financial institutions - to come together and discuss enabling market conditions and policy requirements to address the challenges faced by MSMEs in the adoption of biomass gasifiers.
